The word "tattoo" is derived from the Polynesian word “tatu” which means, “to mark”.

Ever since this practice of permanently marking one’s body began some thousands of years ago, there have been those who wanted the deed undone. Over the years, techniques used to remove tattoos have included dermabrasion, acids and surgical excision, each option with its own drawbacks.

Today, advances in laser technology allow for safe, fast and effective treatments.

Q-Switched lasers are the gold standard for tattoo removal and are characterized by their ability to deliver large amounts of energy in incredibly small bursts, measured in nanoseconds. This unique ability allows for the tattoo ink pigment to be fragmented without causing damage to the surrounding skin.

How does laser tattoo removal work?

Laser energy is directed at the tattooed area for a fraction of a second, passing harmlessly through the outer layer of the skin and targeting the tattoo ink directly. The laser fragments the ink, allowing your body to absorb it and break it down naturally.
